Growing High Point is proud to be a member of the NC Food Hub Collaborative, a statewide network working to strengthen local food systems and support small farmers. As part of this growth, we have renamed our facility the Urban Acres Food Hub, bringing together our farm operations and food access programs under one identity.

The Urban Acres Food Hub serves as the center for food procurement, processing, storage, and distribution across the Growing High Point network. The facility provides shared washing, packaging, and storage space for community gardeners and urban farmers, while supplying fresh produce for Growdega, community gardens, senior produce delivery, and local markets. The Food Hub also accepts produce donations, extends the life of fresh produce, and serves as a base for community workshops and gatherings.
Growdega
Many High Point neighborhoods lack convenient access to fresh, healthy food, forcing residents to travel long distances or rely on processed options from convenience stores. To address this challenge, we launched the Growdega, Growing High Point's mobile farmers market.

The Growdega brings fresh fruits and vegetables directly into underserved communities, increasing access to nutritious food while preserving the freedom of choice. We also support families using SNAP and EBT benefits through programs that help stretch their food dollars further. By bringing healthy food closer to home, we are working to improve nutrition and strengthen food access throughout our community.

Free Farm Shares
Growing High Point’s Free Farm Share Produce Program was born out of COVID-19 pandemic to serve vulnerable population. Since then, we have continued our deliveries and saved these families over $20,000 in 2023 alone!​ For 51 weeks out of the year, we deliver a Farm Share of fresh produce to over 40 families in High Point. ​

Become a Garden Angel!
For only $100/month, you can commemorate the special person in your life who taught you to care for your neighbors! We will add a special label to a weekly Free Farm Share that says "A Gift of Fresh Produce from your Garden Angel, NAME."

High Point Public Library Farmers Market
The High Point Farmers Market runs from April 18 - October 31 at 901 N. Main Street. The HP Farmers Market offers a Double the Bucks program that matches SNAP/EBT shoppers’ purchases dollar-for-dollar!
How does it work? They will double whatever amount you put on your EBT card. For example, $5 on your EBT card = $10 in Farmers Market tokens. Available all season long, find the Farmers Market table to purchase your tokens (and receive half for free!)
